We had the pleasure of meeting Phil Bruno of Treat 'em Right Seminars while participating in his discovery process on a very important project to our City; hospitality training for our 1,000 convention center workers.

After some discussions, and getting to see Phil in action, we chose to contract with him to design and develop a training program for our 56,000 Center City hospitality workers and the larger community.

With support and direction of our VP of Marketing, Phil has created scripts, managed the creative process and coordinated all details with his e-learning partner ej4. He did his homework by visiting all of our major attractions and sampling our current guest experience, so he could help shape the program with first-hand experience. He then developed a curriculum to fit our unique needs as a Destination Management Organization, serving the community as a whole.

While this is certainly a hands on process and we are still in development, as we enter the final stage of deploying our campus to the community we are confient that our goals will be met for our City, and look forward to working together with Phil in the future.

The Convention & Visitors Bureau of Greater Cleveland, Inc., d/b/a Positively Cleveland, engaged Phil Bruno of Treat 'em Right Total Customer Experience to develop a training program for visitor-facing staff in partnership with Positively Cleveland.

As a result of our partnership with Mr. Bruno, two training workshops were developed with the goal to imporove visitor experiences and promote Cleveland as a travel and tourism destination. Mr. Bruno developed and designed two separate, two-hour training workshops. The first workshop focused on improving interactions between visitor-facing staff and guests. Working closely with our Destination Development and Marketing Departments, Mr. Bruno also designed a second workshop highlighting Cleveland's destination brand using visitor information provided by Positively Cleveland.

Bringing over 30 years of experience in customer experience training and development, Mr. Bruno was a valuable member of Positively Cleveland's program development team that included staff members from Positively Cleveland's Destination Development and Marketing Departments, a local marketing agency, and a 17-member Advisory Committee.

The training program has been well-received by Cleveland's travel and tourism industry and would not have been possible without the support and industry expertise provided by Phil Bruno.

In January of 2011 we engaged Phil Bruno to design and deliver a Customer Service training program that both challenged and motivated our 250 front-line employees who see over 2.6 million guests annually at The Gateway Arch. This was our second engagement for training services with Phil since 2005.

Phil took the time to conduct stakeholder interviews involving all levels to determine needs. The looking UP! program he designed was customized to meet both the needs of the organization and employees. The content challenged and interested both 25+ years experienced employees and new members to our organization. His classes introduced behaviors that raised the quality of guest interactions while including specific functional area scenarios.

Our expectations were high and Phil exceeded them. He performed 16 three-hour sessions and achieved a 99.7% met or exceeded expectations ratings from attendees.

I can therefore recommend Phil Bruno and Treat 'em Right Seminars for any such projects you may be considering.

Phil was engaged to present on two topics, Team Building and Communication, to a group of 110 employees at an interactive marketing company. Included in Phil's presentation was an assessment tool which helped the group identify various strata of personality types. We found the assessment particularly useful and Phil's contemporary, participatory style very engaging and thought provoking.

We met with the management team after the event to talk about what key elements of the presentation we wanted to perpetuate and 'bake' into our organization on an ongoing basis, and have incorporated the assessment tool's results to assist in our communication and interaction both internally and externally with clients.

Time well spent with Phil!

Dear Phil,

On behalf of the Georgia Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus and the Georgia Department of Economic Development, I want to express our appreciation to you for speaking at the recent Governor's Tourism Conference.

Your expertise helped make our vision for the conference a reality. This year we were able to Build Georgia Travel Brick by Brick through education. The event provided enhanced programs and excellent sessions for a broad cross section of over 525 tourism industry professionals.

We received very enthusiastic and complimentary reviews about the program. Our conference attendance illustrates how important education is to our industry and we appreciate you sharing your knowledge with us.

Thank you again for your participation.

Dear Meeting or Conference Planner,

Phil Bruno recently spoke during a general session at the Governor's 2011 Colorado Tourism Conference in Loveland, Colorado. Phil was incredibly well received by over 350 tourism industry members. The conference feedback that we received showed that his presentation resonated with the attendees and was informative and inspiring.

His insight into best practices by using local and regional business models was helpful and timely in this economic situation. He did his research on our needs as a tourism group and paired the success stories of both local and regional businesses and their success stories to our situation in promoting tourism in this new economy.

The case studies Phil presented were very applicable to ever segment of the tourism industry. The conversation about the definitions of community was especially relevant as Colorado's tourism industry is very focused on establishing strong partnerships and identifying the commonalities in their communities to thrive in the current environment.

As a conference planner, Phil was an ideal presenter. He was incredibly easy to work with and from first contact to presentation was a very smooth experience. I recommend Phil Bruno as a presenter for your conference.

Sincerely,
Laura Libby

Dear Phil,

As the President of the Virginia Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus, I want to thank you for being the opening keynote speaker at this year's Virginia Association of Convention and Visitors Bureau's 2011 Virginia Tourism Summit in Chesapeake, Virginia. Your topic of Surviving and Thriving despite the recession economy was what we based the entire theme of the Summit on. It was a pleasure to hear the positive stories that have been born out of the great strategies and tactics of some of the most phenomenally successful tourism organizations in the country. Continuing the discussion at the following breakout session really allowed our attendees to drill down into the subject matter for even more information and enabled them to begin the dialogue for their own economic recoveries (and the next great idea)!

Thank you for bringing your passion for showing our members, vendors and guests that excellence is attainable, creativity and innovation still rule the day, how technology is delivering transparency to customers, the new imperative of partnerships and helping us understand the new definitions for "Community". Your presentation will help give our attendees the tools that we all need to create our own positive story!...that kind of motivation is priceless and you really delivered! Rock on Phil Bruno!

Yours in Tourism,

Dear Meeting or Conference Planner,

I recommend Phil Bruno as a speaker for a conference.

He recently spoke to the general session at the Colorado Tourism Conference in Pueblo, CO
and was well received by over 350 industry members. His presentation was found to be
informative, helpful and fun. His presentation helped to inspire the attendees.

His insight into best practices by using local and regional business models was helpful and
timely in this economic situation. He did his research of our needs as a tourism group and
paired the success stories of both local and regional businesses and their success stories to
our situation in promoting tourism in this new economy.

He stressed that we need to know our customer and if we hadn’t asked who they are in the
last nine months....we didn’t know them anymore. It was a timely and effective approach to
helping large and small businesses understand the changes that have taken place and how we need to focus our strategies to this new paradigm.

His approach to telling the story of how you can be successful in this market environment
coupled with his research; helped to make the presentation understandable and practical for
anyone to fit into their business experience.

Best,
Kendra Rhoades, Mgr.

Dear Phil,

On behalf of Judy Widlowski, I would like to thank you for speaking to our membership on June 3, 2009 at the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee.

Given the many faceted challenges currently facing our hospitality industry, your topics on Engaging Value Seekers, as well as Strategic Customer Profiling are very timely. Our membership is very concerned about what the future holds, yet are more determined than ever to weather the storm and come out of this smarter, stronger and better positioned.

I know the attendees really appreciated the numerous stories and examples that you shared with them in the first portion of the seminar; I think it gave them "food for thought" on ideas they could employ in their own companies. Also, the insight on how different generations respond/react to certain messages was interesting and informative.

Best wishes to you as you continue to help navigate our industry through the challenges of this economy and the ever-changing competitive landscape.

Regards,

Todd O'Leary

It was a pleasure meeting you, and I look forward to working with you again in the future.

RE: 16th Annual Support Staff Institute's Mini-Conference

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you so som uch for presenting at the 16th Annual Support Staff Academy Mini-Conference. The educational support staff in our community contributes to the education of all our youth, and they deserve a day that sparkles not only with fun, but is educational as well. I thank you for your effort and time to bring that day to reality.

When I have the opportunity to encourage a new program person, i seem to always give the same advice. The marketing of a program is a viscious circle....you need attendees, who are drawn from great presenters! Great presenters keep attendees returning, which continues to grow the numbers, so it all boils down to a great program with people like YOU! Below are a few comments taken from our evaluation survey to date:

"Very worthwhile day!"

"I wish I had known about the Mini-Conferences before."

"All of my CSD workshop experiences have been good; this particular conference was excellent!"

"You always do a great job holding the Mini-Conference, but this year you exceeded yourself!!! Wonderful day and even learned A LOT! Thank you!"

Thanks again for sharing and have a wonderful summer!
